A driver has died after their vehicle rolled and hit a tree near Bendigo on Saturday night.
A passerby located the vehicle on Knowsley-Barnadown Rd in Muskerry, 30km east of Bendigo, before midnight.
Police believe the car may have rolled before striking a tree.
The single occupant, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined by police.

MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN BROADMEADOWS CRASH
A motorcyclist has died and a woman is fighting for life after colliding with a car in Melbourne’s north on Saturday evening.
The rider and his female passenger were riding on Widford St in Broadmeadows about 8.30pm when they crashed into a car as it turned onto Lahinch St.
The male rider, who has yet to be formally identified, died at the scene, while the female passenger was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the car stopped and is assisting police with their inquiries.

ONE DEAD IN BALLARAT HOUSE FIRE
A person has died following a house fire in Ballarat on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to a Almurta St residence to reports of the fire about 6.30am.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze but the person, who is yet to be formally identified, was found dead at the scene.

MAN CHARGED AFTER CYCLIST KILLED IN HIT-RUN
A man has been charged over a hit-run collision that killed a cyclist in Cobungra this morning.
The 25-year-old Swifts Creek man was charged with dangerous driving causing death, failing to stop and failing to render assistance after he allegedly struck and killed a 62-year-old man from Queensland on the Great Alpine Rd on February 12.
He was granted bail and will appear at the Bairnsdale Magistrates’ Court on February 16.
E-SCOOTER RIDER CRITICALLY INJURED IN GIPPSLAND
A man is fighting for life after crashing an e-scooter in Victoria’s southeast just days after a similar crash left a young man dead in Narre Warren.
The 50-year-old Morwell man suffered life threatening injuries when he lost control and fell off his electric scooter on Winifred St in Morwell, 150km south east of Melbourne, about 11.55pm on Friday.
He remains in hospital in a critical condition while police probe the cause of the crash.
The Morwell wreck comes after a young man believed to be aged in his late teens or early 20s died when a car crashed into him while travelling along the Princes Highway near Raven Cres on Thursday.
MAN CRUSHED TO DEATH BY BOBCAT
A man has died after he was crushed by a bobcat in northeast Victoria on Friday.
Emergency services were called to a private address in Yackandandah following reports the man was trapped under the loader about 2pm.
The man, who has yet to be formally identified, could not be revived by emergency services.
WorkSafe attended the incident and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
