Man and woman facing multiple charges after Port Melbourne drug bust
Police have arrested a 36-year-old man and 34-year-old woman after raiding a house and uncovering a huge amount of drugs and chemicals used to make GHB.

A man and woman who allegedly grew weed in tents and stashed huge amounts of chemicals used to make GHB have been charged with drug trafficking.
Prahran Divisional Response Unit police raided a home on Webb Rd in Port Melbourne on Tuesday morning, where they found two litres of 1.4 Butanediol, an alcohol compound used to make the depressant party drug GHB, as well as a cache of equipment allegedly used to make and sell drugs.
Officers found several “mature” cannabis plants that the couple allegedly grew in makeshift tents in the backyard.
Also among the stash were digital scales and drug paraphernalia.
Officers arrested a 36-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman at the house.
They were both charged with trafficking a commercial quantity and possessing a traffickable quantity of 1,4 Butanediol and possessing, cultivating and trafficking cannabis.
The woman was bailed but the man was remanded in custody after appearing at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
They will both return to court on May 20.
