A crash reconstruction expert is among the key witnesses identified in the case against Samantha Murphy’s accused killer.
Patrick Orren Stephenson appeared in the Supreme Court for the first time on Wednesday after electing to have his case fast-tracked to the higher court last year.
The son of former AFL player Orren Stephenson has pleaded not guilty to murdering the Ballarat mother on February 4, 2024.
Mr Stephenson, 23, did not say anything throughout the administrative hearing, much of which the Herald Sun is prohibited from reporting.
But it can be revealed road reconstructionist Robert Hay is a witness who is expected to give evidence if the case goes to trial.
Forensic phone data specialist Matthew Sorell has also been named as a witness.
The prosecution case against Mr Stephenson has never been aired in court.
Despite extensive searches, Ms Murphy’s body has never been found.
Judicial Registrar Tim Freeman adjourned the case until next month.
