Three innocent men were assaulted by offenders armed with knives, a taser, knuckle dusters and a hammer at their Doncaster property in a frightening home invasion.

Detectives are investigating after three unknown offenders allegedly invaded a Rathmullen Quadrant home about 1.15pm on June 21.

Police from the Manningham Crime Investigation Unit said the trio arrived in a stolen blue/silver Lexus IS250 sedan with registration plates 1LM4KN.

They then knocked on the door which was answered by a 27-year-old male who lived at the property.

“The men, armed with knives, a taser, knuckle dusters and a hammer, assaulted the man and then proceeded inside where they assaulted two other male residents,” a police statement said.

“They were all injured and treated at the scene.”

Doncaster housemates Asif Jamal and Rahim Khan, two of the victims in the attack, spoke of their horror experience on Tuesday afternoon.

Mr Jamal claimed the duo were punched and stabbed by the attackers, and he was “a second away from dying” after they squeezed his neck.

“People suddenly came inside and assaulted us very badly with punches and weapons,” he said.

“They had made up their mind to destroy us, loot us, we tried our best to secure the house… and tried to resist and get out of the door.

Mr Jamal said it was the first time in his eight years living in Australia that he’s felt uncomfortable, and they were putting security cameras and gates around their house following the attack.

“I’ve been here for eight years and I’ve never experienced this,” he said.

“I had never seen these people before and I don’t know why they came or why they targeted us.

“I have no enemies here, I don’t know where these people come from or what their motive is behind it all.”

The offenders stole cash and mobile phones, before fleeing the scene in the stolen Lexus.

Investigators have released CCTV of the three unknown men arriving in the stolen Lexus and in the hope that someone recognises them and the vehicle and can provide information on their whereabouts.

Manningham detective acting sergeant Trevor Reitman said the car used in the attack was stolen in Ringwood in April and had not been seen since the June 21 incident.

He believed the car, if found, would hold plenty of clues in tracking down the alleged attackers.

“Doncaster is not usually an area known for home invasions, for us it’s quite concerning and obviously we want to get to the bottom of why it occurred… we want to know why they’ve gone to this address and terrorised these poor victims.”
