Heroic daughter of slain mum Monique Lezsak ‘damaged’ by tragedy
The young daughter of Monique Lezsak who tried to save her mum before she was allegedly murdered is struggling to come to terms with the tragedy, her father has revealed.

The young daughter of Monique Lezsak who tried in vain to save her mum from an alleged knife attack at the hands of her boyfriend is struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.
Ms Lezsak’s former partner Jye Carter, also father to her two young twins, told the Herald Sun he could see the damage caused to his little girl each time he looked into her eyes.
He said he was glad the man charged with Ms Lezsak’s murder, 51-year-old Sven Lindemann, survived his own life-threatening injuries to speak with detectives.
“When I look into (my daughter’s) eyes, (I see) the damage that has been done to my baby girl. It’s just heartbreaking to say the least,” Mr Carter said.
He added that if found guilty he hope Lindemann “rots in jail for the rest of his life”.
Mr Carter, who also spoke with media soon after learning of the tragedy, this week took some comfort in knowing homicide detectives had charged Lindemann with Ms Lezsak’s murder.
The devoted disability care worker was allegedly killed last Tuesday at an Endeavour Hills home when an altercation between her and Lindemann turned deadly.
Police alleged the bodybuilder, who regularly flouted his fitness journey online, stabbed Ms Lezsak multiple times before turning the knife on himself.
Her distraught little girl, inside the property with her brother during the alleged attack, attempted to intervene.
She was taken to Monash Medical Centre after sustaining serious injuries, while Lindemann suffered life-threatening injuries to his upper-body.
Homicide detectives were eventually able to speak with Lindemann five days after the ordeal while under police guard in hospital.
He was charged with one count of murder and recklessly causing injury on Saturday.
“Monique took her job as a mother very seriously and was a 110 per cent hands on mum. I still can’t believe that she’s gone,” Mr Carter said.
“It breaks my heart so much that Monique is gone. Now my children don’t have their mother. That’s so hard on my twins.”
Ms Lezsak’s best friend, Jacqueline Schwarcz, last week told the Herald Sun the heroic little girl was cut while trying to defend her mum during the alleged fight.
“Her daughter is a hero, my hero, our hero, she tried to stop it,” she said.
“She was cut in a few places on the same arm and hand.”
More than $14,500 has been donated to a GoFundMe launched in wake of the tragedy to help support Ms Lezsak’s children.
