Five arrested over string of ram raids on luxury CBD stores
Police have arrested five men over a series of ram raids on high-end retailers in Melbourne’s CBD after searches allegedly unearthed luxury items, jewellery and stolen cars.

Five people have been arrested over a series of ram raids at luxury stores in Melbourne’s CBD.
Detectives searched six properties and storage units in Cranbourne, Dandenong and Springvale on Tuesday and allegedly found several luxury handbags, stolen vehicles, drugs and assorted jewellery.
The arrests come after ram raids at stores across Melbourne, including Collins St stores on March 6, March 21 and April 8 and 16, a Bourke St store on April 6 and an Essendon retailer on April 16.
It is alleged luxury items worth approximately $1.2m were stolen during the ram raids.
A 21-year-old Springvale man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, burglary, attempted burglary, theft, handle stolen goods, theft from motor car, criminal damage and commit indictable offence while on bail.
A 31-year-old Cranbourne man has been charged with theft from motor vehicle, burglary, theft, possess trafficable quantity of drug, possess drug of dependence, commit indictable offence while on bail and deal with proceeds of crime.
A second 31-year-old Cranbourne man has been charged with theft from motor vehicle, burglary, aggravated burglary, attempted burglary, theft, commit indictable offence while on bail, handle stolen goods and unlicensed driving.
The trio was remanded and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
A 30-year-old Springvale man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, possess drug of dependence and commit indictable offence while on bail.
He was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on August 5.
A 30-year-old Dandenong man was released pending summons.
The investigation remains ongoing.
