A 43-year-old cyclist has died after being hit by a truck in Pascoe Vale South.

A cyclist has been killed following a collision with a truck in Pascoe Vale South on Tuesday afternoon.

The 43-year-old Brunswick West man was travelling north on Melville Road before being hit by the truck at the intersection of Brearley Parade at 1:30pm.

Police are investigating at the scene, with the driver of the truck assisting police with their inquiries.

Exact circumstances regarding the collision are yet to be confirmed and investigations are currently ongoing.

Melville Road has remained closed since the collision.
