The woman who witnessed the chilling death of her caretaker on Saturday feared for her safety before the incident.

Speaking with the Herald Sun on Monday, 31-year-old Lisette said she held Adam Bockhodt, 34, as he was left helplessly bleeding out on the floor of her home in South Yarra.

“He died just on the kitchen floor.”

“There was just too much blood,” she said.

“He knew he was dying so I got off of my wheelchair and got on the ground because I didn’t want him to die alone.”

Lisette said she had known Mr Bockhodt for over “half her life” and he had been her carer, as she is wheelchair bound, for many years.

“He was an amazing person, he was so loyal,” she said.

“He died a soldier.”

Lisette said Mr Bockhodt was a father who had been homeless since was about 14-years-old and was only a week away from moving into a “forever home” in South Yarra.

A 17-year-old boy charged following the stabbing over the weekend was remanded into custody on Sunday night and will appear before Children’s Court on Monday.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case remains ongoing.
