Jeremy Howe was famously bemused when Joe Daniher was awarded Mark of the Year in 2017.
He suffered flashbacks of that Brownlow night in the first quarter against Geelong at the MCG when he soared over a pack and hauled in what looked like another regulation speccie.

But he won’t even be in the voting this year — for that attempt anyway — after the umpire ruled he didn’t control the footy all the way to the ground.

The decision left Howe and Magpie fans at the MCG and at home bemused, and Howe let the umpire know about it when Geelong forward Gary Rohan was paid a mark for a juggling attempt in the next quarter — over Howe — that seemed far less certain.
