Tigers young gun Daniel Rioli is set to marry his DJ partner Paris Lawrence after popping the question during a romantic mid-season getaway.
The couple, on holiday in Queenstown for Richmond’s bye week, took to social media on Tuesday evening to share their happy news.
Rioli, 27, got down on one knee as the pair, who began dating in 2021, took in the sights of New Zealand’s popular tourist town from the snowy mountain tops.
“FOREVER,” Rioli captioned a collection of loved-up images announcing the big news.
“I can’t wait to marry the woman of my dreams.”
Several images capturing the romantic moment showed the talented half-back on bended knee just seconds before an elated Lawrence jumped into his arms.
Lawrence said her new fiancé had the “biggest & most beautiful heart” in her own loved-up post as the pair posed inside a helicopter, showing off her new sparkling accessory.
“He looks after me & cares for me to the ends of the earth. Nothing is ever too big with him, we laugh too much, finish each other’s sentences, and always consider each other,” she said.
Lawrence said the pair had been in a “love bubble” since their engagement on Monday.
“I’m so lucky to call him mine, and now my fiancé,” the TikTok influencer added.
Their announcement was flooded with messages of congratulations from plenty of familiar faces, including footy commentator Abbey Holmes, whose on-field farewell with friend Lachie Neale made headlines earlier this week.
“Congratulations beautiful people. So so happy for you,” Holmes said.
Meanwhile, teammate Trent Cotchin said: “The best. Huge congrats guys.”
Rioli and Lawrence began dating after the Tigers favourite ended his long-term romance with influencer Mia Fevola.
The Tigers defender has played 174 games since his debut in 2016.
