Shocking video footage has emerged of a woman being attacked in a Broadmeadows shopping centre car park as young children watched on in horror.

Shocking video has emerged of a woman being violently kicked in the face at a shopping centre in Melbourne’s north.

It’s believed the woman was attacked in the car park at Broadmeadows Central on Sunday.

In the footage posted to social media, a grey Mazda can be seen parked in the middle of the road, blocking three cars behind it.

A man intervenes and holds the pair apart, causing the shopper to walk away.

The shopper then picks up an unknown object from the ground and throws it towards the woman.

Innocent bystanders, including young children, watch on in horror with some filming the fight.

It’s unclear what sparked the dramatic confrontation but it’s understood the incident was not reported to Victoria Police.

It’s not the first time violence has erupted at the shopping centre.

In 2020, a wild brawl left two men hospitalised after a man was pinned to the ground and beaten outside Gloria Jean’s.

In the latest Crime Statistics Agency data, criminal incidents soared by 7.4 per cent in the City of Hume in the past 12 months.

The top five suburbs for crime were Broadmeadows, Craigieburn, Sunbury, Campbellfield and Roxburgh Park.
