Almost four out of 10 Victorian diners add a side of bacon to their brunch, while a quarter like to add a side of sourdough toast to go with their eggs.
Hash browns and avocado are also high on the list of side dishes diners add to an order, with Victorians on average spending between $6 and $10 on these extra dishes.

According to research commissioned by restaurant booking platform Open Table, Aussies are fussy eaters, with almost a half of all diners asking to change a dish on a menu when dining out.
One in four Victorians admit to personalising a dish when eating out either most of the time or always, but only one in five have a dietary requirement that limits what they are able to eat.
More than half of these people use these to avoid foods by choice, rather than having medically diagnosed intolerances. The owner of popular South Yarra eatery Gilson, Jamie McBride, said it was common for people to chop and change dishes on the menu, especially younger diners.
And the ingredient most want to delete from their dish? Almost one in five Victorians ask to have gherkins removed from an order.
