A heartbroken mother is mourning the loss of her charismatic son who died following a brawl with bouncers at a pub in Melbourne’s west.
Jaidyn Delaney, 24, died after a scuffle with security at the Kealba Hotel near St Albans about 2.50am on Sunday.
It’s understood Mr Delaney was restrained by guards but became unresponsive before paramedics tried to revive him.
Sergeant Melissa Seach said homicide squad detectives were investigating and will await the results of a post-mortem to determine his cause of death.
Mr Delaney’s mum, Katy Joan Green, told the Herald Sun she was “completely heartbroken”.
“He was the best human, he was different, he was unique in every sense of the word,” she said.
“A real character that would light up any room he entered. Jaidyn was the absolute light of our life.”
It’s understood his family has sought further information over the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Ms Green said Mr Delaney was the best son, brother, uncle and friend and “anybody that knew him loved being in his presence” because he was an “amazing person”.
Frosted and Co hair salon owner Bianca Frost said Mr Delaney was a regular client at her Lalor business.
“Jaidyn always brought smiles, great conversations and joy with every visit and filled my salon with many more beautiful guests along the way,” she said.
“He filled my salon with not only clients but great memories, gifts, flowers and joy.
“There was never a dull moment or visit from Jaidyn.”
Ms Frost said Mr Delaney often visited with his mum.
“My heart breaks for Jaidyn’s amazing family, a mother and son bond so close,” she said.
“He had true spark and rare energy.
“He was very special and always pumped us up with confidence, he will definitely be missed.”
Friends have paid tribute to the Mill Park man on social media, remembering him as a “handsome” and “positive” person.
“You were without a doubt the most positive person I have ever met and this is what breaks my heart the most,” Maddison Millin said.
“You lit up a room with your presence, your laugh and your love.
“You had so many dreams, you wanted to achieve so much and you were always looking to improve your life just that little more.”
