A mother claims she was thrown to the ground and kicked by a man at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night after watching St Kilda win its second straight game.

The woman, ‘Alicia’, told 3AW this morning that she chased after a man following him throwing a beer at her.

Tensions boiled over after the 38-year-old Warragul woman’s youngest daughter, aged 10, was repeatedly kicking the seats in front of her.

The man in front, and his partner, reportedly told the woman and her daughter to quit kicking their seats.

She said the couple had fired off a text to the Marvel Stadium anti-social hotline to complain about it before things escalated.

“They were telling me that I was a bad mum,” she said.

Incensed by being told off, Alicia said she swore at the couple, before the man poured his drink on her.

“I chased after them and that’s when he assaulted me,” Alicia said.

She says she has “significant” bruising to her legs following the attack and is awaiting x-ray results for a possible broken elbow.
