Kylie Minogue is making moves to the US for a Las Vegas residency — so will Melbourne’s heart be going Padam Padam without her Aussie tour?

Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.

Kylie Minogue’s plan to move home to Melbourne has been blindsided by “Padam Padam” pandemonium, and the bright lights of Las Vegas.

She bought a place near her family home in Melbourne’s leafy eastern suburbs in late 2021, but whether Kylie’s been back long enough to call it a relocation is a stretch.

Now, two years on, Minogue is shifting to the US for a Vegas residency.

So far, she has four Sin City dates in November, another four in December, and eight in the first quarter of 2024.

Rolling Stone UK says Minogue will call the US home during her Vegas run, or until “spring” which translates to April or May.

The magazine also reported, “Melbourne is coming with her,” adding: “Her parents (Ron and Carol) have already bought their tickets to Vegas for opening night; her mum along with a hairdresser ... were the two people on tour with the budding star in the early days.”

Kylie recalled: “They would be handwashing all the dancers’ clothes in the bath of the hotel and rolling them up in towels and drying them overnight. They’ve seen what I’ve had to give for this life and career”.

The Vegas matter raises two important questions, though: How does Kylie’s career resurgence in the US affect her Australian tour plans, including speculation she might pop up for Mushroom’s 50th anniversary gala event or all-star show in Melbourne in November.

Melbourne’s Mushroom label signed Minogue to a record deal in 1987.

The second question is: Did Ron and Carol really have to buy tickets to see their soon-to-be Vegas showgirl?

She should be so plucky.
