The Source: There’s always one ... Brownlow party boy keeps good times rolling

There’s always someone who goes too hard after the Brownlow, and this year it was a plus one to many of the city’s A Listers who was spotted staggering out of a very adults-only establishment.

Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.

There’s always one person who takes the Brownlow party too far.

And it wouldn’t be a Brownlow Medal without someone being awarded the Brendan Fevola perpetual trophy for off-field efforts at footy’s night of nights.

This year’s winner is a regular on Melbourne’s social circuit and is often seen as a plus one to many of the city’s A Listers.

To be fair, he wasn’t invited to the actual Brownlow.

But according to his social media accounts, he was busy working with many of those who were, prior to the event.

We can only imagine that while they were stuck in the Palladium, this social clinger got his own party started.

Who could know what happened through the night, except to say it ended at a particular inner-city “establishment” where hard-earned cash keeps the party going.

A Source source noted our man was in the same clothes he was photographed in the day before.

That was as he hopped into an Uber at about 11am, just outside the adults-only venue.

We’ve been kind in not naming the party boy, although in social circles his reputatation is blooming for getting the votes for after-dark performances.

Legally challenged Pesutto quietly quits Brownlow

It might have been the hottest ticket in town this week, but Opposition Leader John Pesutto was a late no show to Monday’s Brownlow Medal.

The Source has been told Pesutto had accepted an invite and organisers believed that, until at least Friday, he had been planning to attend.

Perhaps it was lucky he didn’t.

Since his court battle with Moira Deeming began last week, Pesutto has been largely missing in action on day-to-day politics.

Despite claims the case wouldn’t impede his work holding the government to account, Pesutto has kept a very low profile.

Government staffers are now openly mocking his virtual absence from daily political life.

So you can only imagine what some of his colleagues might have made of him chucking on a monkey suit and turning out to footy’s night of nights.

Instead Pesutto chose a quiet night in, perhaps to prepare for taking the stand for the first time on Tuesday.

He has also made last minute cancellations to journalism awards the Quills two years running, earning him a bit of a reputation as a no show.
