The Source: Mark Latham, Kane Cornes in social media biffo
They say it takes one to know one, which perhaps helps to explain the back-and-forth trolling between the former Labor leader and the fiery footy commentator.
Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers
They say it takes one to know one.
But Mark Latham trolling Kane Cornes was not on The Source’s bingo card.
The fiery footy commentator recently posted to X a picture of the Port Elliot Bakery, dubbing it “South Australia’s biggest attraction” and tagging in his SEN Breakfast co-host David King.
It was an attempt at a friendly promo but the former federal Labor leader was not impressed, replying “About right” along with a yawning emoji.

Cornes couldn’t help himself and bit back by responding: “What’s your tip for the Melbourne Cup Mark? Allowed in? @SENBreakfast.”
Earlier this month, Latham – who is now a member of the NSW upper house – was reportedly escorted off the grounds of Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse by police.
The 64-year-old had apparently been asked to leave the racecourse by management because he was not allowed to be on the grounds after he previously resigned his membership.
Latham was also subject to a Racing NSW disciplinary hearing last month after allegedly verbally abusing a staff member at the Rosehill Racecourse earlier in the year.
“This is simply vicious payback for stopping the sale of Rosehill,’’ Latham posted on X.
A decade ago, Latham was proved to be the man behind the @RealMarkLatham that had been relentlessly trolling high-profile women on Twitter, so he has plenty of form on the platform.
And to think he was nearly Australia’s prime minister.
