Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.
As Collingwood’s side-by-side motto reverberated around the MCG on Thursday, following the team’s qualifying final win over Melbourne, Collingwood president Jeff Browne was conspicuously solo.
Browne, standing alone outside the Olympic Room, trying to calm pre-match nerves, would normally have Melbourne mover and shaker Ann Peacock at his side, or nearby.
The A-list couple started dating a year ago, but only made their love match official in February at a party to farewell Peacock from Crown.
They also appeared together publicly at footy events including the Gather Round in April, and recently returned from a luxe sojourn in Europe.
Browne was also hospitalised last week for an unspecified illness.
Peacock is the daughter of Liberal Party politician Andrew Peacock and his first wife Susan Rossiter, later Lady Susan Renouf.
Browne was said to be a pillar to the Peacock family following Andrew’s death in 2021.
However, on Thursday, Browne said he and Peacock had parted ways.
Prior to his relationship with Peacock, Browne quietly split from Perth rich-lister Rhonda Wyllie.
Browne, a lawyer and former Channel 9 boss, is the father of soon-to-depart Channel 7 newshound Tom.
