Melbourne’s most prolific party crasher has revealed how she’s blagged her way into VIP events, including watching Collingwood’s premiership win with Gill McLachlan.

Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.

Melbourne’s gatecrasher granny is back.

After three months in Europe, Kara Pylka has resurfaced to add to her illustrious list of events – all accessed without an invite.

On Thursday she appeared on the steps of the GPO Melbourne for the launch of Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out (VAEFNO).

“Who cares, there’s worse things happening in the world than me being here,’’ Pylka said.

“I went to the Grand Final, the Caulfield Cup, but I wasn’t allowed in to Mary Poppins. I’ve supported the theatre all my life so I wasn’t happy about that. Onto the next one.”

Pylka got into the Grand Final after a couple left when one of them was ill.

“They had to go and I just asked people outside for a ticket,” she said. “I was in September Club too with Gill (Gillon McLachlan).”

Pylka has been a noticeable absence from the scene while on holiday with family in Europe.

“I just did Milan Fashion week and just walked into everything,’’ she said. “I got footage with the Kardashians and other big names.

“You know why I do all this, just something to do.”

Preston dishes up tell-all memoir

Former TV cooking show judge Matt Preston has a way with words.

A food critic, broadcaster and author, Preston famously invented the gibberish term “disgusting … ly good” on MasterChef Australia.

And, like they say in those kitchen knife infomercials about kitchen knives, there’s more.

Preston is about to get verbose with a rock’n’roll memoir titled Big Mouth and, to launch the book, his stories will be sliced and diced in an onstage tell-all at Brunswick Ballroom on November 8.

“For a man who has been firmly in the public eye for a decade or more, he has been very, very quiet about his past and private life,” a teaser for the event says. “And there are reasons for this.”

At the event, Preston will share insights about “his adoption, fractured childhood and shocking family tragedies, (a) disastrous spell in the British Army, a misspent youth and burgeoning journalistic career in 1980s London, to relocating to the other side of the world … (to) become a household name on one of the most successful Australian TV shows of all time.”

It sounds like a three course meal of big reveals.
