The Source: How the paparazzi found the Sarah Lew and Chris Lucas wedding has become a celebrity headache

Who didn’t get the strict privacy memo for Sarah Lew and Chris Lucas’s society wedding of the year? A-listers are aflutter and event absences are being noted.

The society wedding of the year has been hit with a juicy twist.

Sarah Lew, former daughter-in-law of billionaire businessman Solomon Lew, married restaurant king Chris Lucas in Venice in June.

For days there were pap pics rolled out of big name guests boarding boats and hobnobbing on luxury balconies.

But how did the pap photographer know where to go when guests were briefed on a social media ban?

The expensive nuptials took place at the Aman Hotel, Venice’s only seven star hotel where George Clooney wed wife Amal.

Festivities were choreographed with privacy at the forefront for the Melbourne A-list couple, who were surrounded by the likes of Melbourne socialites Elliot Garnaut, Raph and Fiona Geminder, John Valmorbida along with international fashion designer Rick Owens, and Guillaume Brahimi and his wife Tamie Ingham.

Another notable Melbourne name there was leading designer Effie Kats. It appears the savvy fashionista got caught in the game of finger pointing.

The absence of Lew (now Lucas) at Kats’ hen’s party on Saturday night got social circles talking, and we hear she hasn’t yet received an invite to Kats’ wedding in November.

Clearly Kats has much support from their mutual friends. She has been gushed over by Nadia Bartel, Chris Kontos, Garnaut, Lana Wilkinson and also the likes of Bec Judd, who couldn’t make it on the night.

What’s the old saying? Drama in the city of love and, prego, you’re gondola.

Stephen Dank’s fraud, forgery charges hit unwanted anniversary

Essendon supplements scandal biochemist Stephen Dank has an upcoming anniversary.

Next month, Dank will celebrate three years since he became a wanted man.

In October 2020 The Northern Territory Local Court issued a warrant for Dank’s arrest.

Danks stands charged with a string of offences stemming from a stint moonlighting as a “consultant” at an anti-ageing clinic run by an eccentric doctor, Dr Satbir Aulakh, who moonlights as a Bollywood singer.

Dr Aulakh’s clinic dished out copious amounts of prescription drugs to men during the period Dank was there.

It is alleged some men had their health harmed irreversibly.

Dank never appeared in court in person to face the charges, which include charges of fraud, forgery and causing serious harm.

He instead sent his lawyers.

But their patience, and Dank’s money ran out.

Then the pandemic began.

Police are rumoured to have, at one point, flown to Perth on a mission to collect more evidence to bolster their case, but it is unclear why the Keystone Cops who run the Northern Territory Police Force have not hopped on a plane to arrest and extradite their man.

Eighteen months ago, the NT DPP, Lloyd Babb, told the Herald Sun his office would “continue to liaise with police in relation to this matter”.

The charges remain on foot, and were last mentioned in Darwin Local Court in May, when a judge confirmed the arrest warrant was still live.

The Source presumes that Dank would say he’s done nothing wrong.
