Daniel Andrews’ successor Jacinta Allan earns new moniker from Neil Mitchell
He had a list of nicknames for Dan Andrews after the former premier banned him for more than six years, but 3AW host Neil Mitchell hasn’t waited long to slap one on the state’s new leader.

Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.
Dictator Dan, according to 3AW’s Neil Mitchell, has been replaced by Captain Chaos.
Mitchell, who retires in December after 33 years of dominating the radio morning role, has gone more than a year without speaking to a state Cabinet member on his program.
Former premier Daniel Andrews banned Mitchell for more than six years — a move that has been labelled scandalous.
Jacinta Allan has not sat down with Mitchell since taking over in late September.
Mitchell may have coined “Dictator Dan” for Andrews (well, he thinks he did, but some say it was Rebecca Judd during lockdown).
Mitchell certainly also called Andrews Chairman Dan and Teflon Dan.
Now, he has described Jacinta Allan as “Captain Chaos”.
“Dan may be gone but the total lack of accountability lives on,’’ Mitchell tells the Source.
“Meanwhile the chaos becomes more frantic by the day. I’ve decided the new Premier (Allan) is Captain Chaos. So that’s the end of any interview.”
Mitchell has reached out to Treasurer Tim Pallas but his efforts to get him on air, via X, formerly Twitter, have so far been ignored.
Mitchell responded to Pallas, who had posted about the state of Victoria’s economy.
“I’ve read it,” Mitchell said. “Some good. Some not. Built on immigration. The debt cliff still looms. If you want to talk it up happy to discuss on air. Available?”
Mitchell muses that Pallas used to speak “to me regularly”. “Now he ignores my requests,” he says. “Happened when he changed factions and joined Dan’s. You have the number, Mr Pallas.”
Senator’s one-sided horror show
As Halloweeners spent the night of spooks and scares trick-or-treating, mean-spirited Victorian Senator Jana Stewart rushed to social media for her own one-sided horror show.
“What scares you more than Halloween?” Ms Stewart said on Instagram, in a post jazzed up with pictures of ghosts, ghouls and goblins.
Then she let loose on scares by the former federal Liberal government.
“Tony Abbott appointing himself as the Minister for Women? The infamous dimly lit photo of Peter Dutton? Scott Morrison holidaying in Hawaii during a national crisis?
“The time Bronwyn Bishop used $5000 of taxpayer money to charter a helicopter to a Liberal Party fundraiser? Scott Morrison’s secret health, finance, treasury, home affairs and industry, science, energy and resources ministries?”
Spine-tingling stuff from a self-serving Halloween session of click-or-bleat.
