Point Cook South Senior College is tipped to open by the start of the 2020 school year, while there is protest over the government’s plans to create a new suburb at Aviators Field.

What’s to come: The state government has earmarked 414ha to build a new community in Melbourne’s west. Point Cook residents are opposed to the development.

What’s to come: A new school for the Wyndham area, accommodating about 1100 students from years 10-12.

What’s to come: $2.5m community centre revamp to house a series of Wyndham Council services.

What’s to come: New A-League team Western Melbourne has vowed to build a 15,000+ seat Wyndham Stadium in the next couple of years.
When: 2021/22.

What: New Footscray Hospital
What’s to come: The state government has pledged a $1.5b for a new Footscray Hospital. The 504 bed facility will be built next to Victoria University, on the corner of the Geelong and Ballarat roads.
When: Construction begins between 2018-2020.
What: Victoria Square VS03
What’s coming: Less apartments with more space are expected for the third instalment of the Victoria Square development in Footscray. The 13 storey tower is the shortest of the three and will house 86 apartments — 66 will have two bedroom and two bathroom floorplans.
