A teenager was struck by a boat’s propeller off the Capel Sound foreshore on Sunday.
The Craigieburn girl, 14, entered the water from a boat and was struck by the propeller about 7pm.
She was flown to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Three adults and a child also on-board the boat pulled the teen from the water and took her to shore where she was treated by paramedics.
Ambulance Victoria said she was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries.
“Marine Investigation Unit detectives attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances,” a police spokeswoman said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
