MELBOURNE’S summer construction blitz has resulted in gridlock on the roads, and rail and tram disruptions throughout the city.

MELBOURNE TRAFFIC: GUIDE TO SUMMER ROADWORKS
TRAINS
Cranbourne and Pakenham lines
Buses will be replacing selected trains between Caulfield and Dandenong stations from Wednesday 10 January to Wednesday 17 January

Hurstbridge line
Buses will replace trains from 8:15pm on Thursday 18 January to the last service on Tuesday 23 January 2018

South Morang line
Disruptions due to the Mernda rail project mean that buses will replace trains between Epping and South Morang stations from 9:15pm on Friday 12 January until the last service on Sunday 14 January 2018

Bairnsdale and Traralgon lines
Coaches will be replacing trains on these lines from the first service on Tuesday 2 January to the last service on Wednesday 17 January

TRAMS
Routes 1 and 6
Track renewal works on Lygon Street mean that buses will be replacing trams from the first service on Wednesday 3 January until the last service on Tuesday 16 January
PTV advises allowing an extra 15 minutes travel time, full information here.
BUSES
Routes 200, 207, 216, 219, 220, 232, 234, 235, 236, 237, 246, 250, 251, 302, 303, 304, 305, 309, 318, 350, 905, 906, 907, 908 and Night Bus Route 961 and 966 services will continue to travel along Hoddle Street while roadworks are underway. Delays may be experienced until Sunday 14 January.
