MOTORISTS are being warned to brace for lengthy delays on their morning commute as road works and traffic accidents grind parts of the city to a halt.

Speed limits on the Eastern Freeway into the city have been reduced as overnight line markings were not completed because of the rain.

Drivers will be slowed to 80km/h between Doncaster and Bulleen Rd for the entire day.

And a truck rollover in South Yarra is blocking lanes at Kings Way.

Two left lanes on St Kilda Rd citybound remain closed as emergency services work to clear the area.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and prepare for delays.
