A Bendigo husband and wife have had an absolute blinder on the golf course, scoring back-to-back holes in one during their weekend round.
Ben and Georgina Haines play golf together most weekends at Neangar Park Golf Course, but Saturday’s game is one for the record books.
Both scored their first hole in one – seconds apart and on the same hole.
After coming off “a pretty miserable bogey”, Ben took his shot on the 12th hole, scoring a hole in one.
Seconds later, Georgina also scored an ace on the same hole.
“Same day, same hole, consecutive shots by two people who are married … what are the chances?,” Mrs Haines said.
“The more you practice, the luckier you get,” she told Sunrise.
“There was a lot of handshakes because we had quite a gallery of people watching after Ben’s shot.”
The celebrations continued at the “19th hole”, with the club shouting the couple a bottle of bubbles and a couple of beers.
“The car stayed the night at the golf club,” Mr Haines said.
“We live nearby the course, so it was a nice short walk home.”
The incredible feat – estimated to be a 17 million to one chance – has upped the ante for the “super competitive” couple.
“I’m stoked to tick that off (and) if I can get another, I’ll be really happy,” Mrs Haines said.
