Rider in serious condition after CBD crash, roads closed

A MOTORBIKE rider has been seriously injured at a busy intersection in Melbourne’s CBD after being hit by a car.
The male rider in his 30s was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with head injuries at about 9.15am after the collision at Lonsdale and Elizabeth streets.
He remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Police and emergency services are now investigating what happened, with a number of road closures still in place.
Public transport through Melbourne’s CBD are also experiencing delays.
Police are urging the public to avoid the area.
No one else was injured during the incident.
