Tubs of potato salad have been recalled over listeria contamination concerns.
The Daly Potato Co’s ‘Bacon and Dijon Gourmet Potato Salad’ has been pulled from shelves at Woolworths across the country after it was found to have “microbial contamination”.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand issued an alert on Tuesday, amid Christmas celebrations, warning consumers of the potentially deadly hazard.
“Listeria may cause illness in pregnant women and their unborn babies, the elderly and people with low immune systems,” a statement from the organisation said.
Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
The tubs have a used by date of January 8, 2020.
Listeria is a bacterial illness caused by eating contaminated foods.
