More than 200 members of the Outlaws Motor Cycle Gang have taken over a Victorian school camp during the club’s National Run last weekend.

The bikies rolled through local towns under police watch before reportedly spending a weekend at Camp Rumbug — a popular adventure camp for school groups.

And locals say they were well behaved.

The Herald Sun understands from local business owners that the gang stayed at the camp, which can house up to 350 people.

Thevenue is located in the hills of South Gippsland and offers activity and orienteering camps to a wide range of groups.

Rumbug hosts hundreds of school students from across the country at two locations in Victoria and another site in Queensland.

A camp spokeswoman would not confirm who hired the space, but said the site was booked by a large group last weekend.

“We did have a private venue hire over the weekend,” the spokeswoman said.

“There were several hundred people and the group was very well behaved, like all groups we have here.”

A business owner from nearby Foster, who asked the Herald Sun to conceal his name, said the gang kept to themselves.

“They barely came into town,” he said.

“Everyone heard they were staying up at Rumbug and there was a big police presence in the town.

“We usually have about one car for three towns but there were at least 10 cars here — one for each street.”

Victoria Police confirmed they monitored the club’s National Run and that no arrests were made.

“Local police, Operations Response Unit, State Highway Patrol and Taskforce Echo members, along with AFP and our interstate counterparts closely monitored the ride so as swift action could be taken to detect and disrupt any OMCG members who committed crimes,” the spokesman said.

“We are always gathering intelligence with regards to the activities of persons engaged in criminal activity, including those persons who may also be associated with OMCGs.”
