The mother of Baby Lucky, Melbourne-born wellness influencer Honey Ahimsa, is back in Bali renovating a house, months after raising nearly $200,000 to fly her sick infant home for lifesaving treatment and pay medical bills.
Ahimsa posted footage of herself walking through a building site with a baby strapped to her chest, and revealing the family is “building our first home, in Bali”.
“SURPRISE — We have faced obstacle after obstacle but without further ado we finally get to share our soon to be home with you,” Ahimsa posted.
“We found an old/run down Balinese house and very slowly, with lots of breaks and tears we are now back and starting the renovating process again!!! Our family are warriors and everything we have gone through, THIS is such a triumphant feeling. Our first home.
“Yes I cried putting the audio to this clip, I am so proud of my family. We deserve ‘days like this’. Who is interested in following the renovation process?”
Honey Ahimsa had earlier posted footage of herself, partner Pan, young son and baby Lucky in a Balinese restaurant, saying they had landed at Bali airport and gone straight to their favourite restaurant.
Before that was footage of the family leaving Australia, with a comment saying “returning home to Bali”.
The Herald Sun is not suggesting Honey Ahimsa and her partner have used money raised to save baby Lucky to purchase the house or put towards its renovation costs.
Lucky was just seven-weeks-old when she developed a life-threatening infection and had to be flown home for emergency treatment earlier this year.
In February, Honey Ahimsa raised $90,000 to pay for an air ambulance to medically evacuate gravely ill baby Lucky back to Australia for urgent care.
Later that month Lucky was medically evacuated to Brisbane after being diagnosed with severe pneumonia, sepsis, organ failure (lungs) and RSV-bronchiolitis.
Doctors gave her just a 50 per cent chance of survival at the time.
But in a remarkable recovery almost three weeks later, Ms Ahimsa in March revealed her “special girl” was finally on the mend.
“Lucky has been discharged from hospital”, she wrote on Instagram.
“She is not fully recovered though doctors have said that she is well enough to continue her recovery at home.
“It’s also more dangerous for her to stay in hospital as the chances of her getting another infection is high in that environment.”
Ms Ahimsa — who was born in Melbourne but moved to Bali with her fiance Pan — raised a further $100,000 through a GoFundMe page to help pay for Lucky’s medical bills.
