MELBOURNE newlyweds Jemma and Daniel Langley first met in the most unlikely of places — as newborns in the maternity ward.
Jemma’s mum and Daniel’s mum met and began forming a bond when both were in labour and sharing a room at William Angliss Hospital in Upper Ferntree Gully in April, 1989.

Baby Jemma was born on April 14, while baby Daniel arrived on April 15 after a long labour.
Both mothers placed a birth notice with a photo of their newborn in the local paper, and remarkably the two snaps appeared side-by-side.
The two mothers became firm friends, so Jemma and Daniel saw each other often as young children.
Jemma says the families drifted apart when the children were eight or nine, only for Jemma and Daniel to coincidentally reconnect as adults.
A few years ago, Jemma began visiting a new hairdresser, who turned out to be Daniel’s sister.
“She worked from her mum’s house, and Daniel showed up one day,” Jemma says.
“He was wearing a hat, and he went to kiss me on the cheek and I got hair dye on his hat!”
Love soon blossomed, and the Cockatoo couple were engaged in 2016, and tied the knot in April this year — and they’re expecting their first baby in March.
“Every time we tell people (the story), they can’t actually believe it,” Jemma says.
“It’s pretty crazy.
“When we met up again, we were just drawn to each other. I absolutely believe in fate, and I think we were meant to be together.”
