MARRIED At First Sight lovebirds Nick Furphy and Sharon Marsh have conquered the tyranny of distance with the couple setting up home in Melbourne.

The couple who ‘wed’ upon meeting on Channel Nine’s controversial relationship show in December have juggled a long distance relationship with Marsh based in Perth and Furphy in Melbourne.

But the debate about who would move where was settled after Furphy’s father, Bairnsdale-based Graeme, was confirmed recently by specialists as suffering Motor Neurone Disease.

Marsh arrived in Melbourne a week ago with Furphy delighted to have her by his side as he and his family come to terms with his father’s shattering diagnosis.

“Moving to Melbourne for me shows how dedicated she is and how she wants to make it (their relationship) work,” Furphy said.

“I think if you both want to same thing it makes such a big issue (as MND) easier to cope with. You both help each other to make it work.

“Having Sharon here to support me does make it a bit easier.”

Marsh admitted she was yet to find her feet in Melbourne and said she and Nick had no intention of rushing into a ‘real’ marriage.

“I have shut down my business in Perth and I have up and left my family and friends,” she said.

“I am finally over here on the other side of the country with Nick. There are no cameras filming us in our day to day lives. We are just going enjoy one another’s company, naturally, normally and just focus on our relationship.”

Quipped Furphy: “If everything goes to plan I will marry her in a year.”

Furphy and Marsh are the only couple to have survived this season of the Channel Nine hit, Married at First Sight.
