Asked by a reporter if he was running from anything Thompson replied: “No.”

Thompson was also asked if he was worried about what might come out of the investigation and replied: “I don’t think so.”

Thompson was questioned earlier last week when his Port Melbourne home was raided by police on January 5.

He was released pending further inquiries.

Days prior to the search, two men with alleged bikie links, Karl Holt and Thomas Windsor, were charged with drug trafficking offences and remanded in custody.

Items taken from the house will be forensically tested, which may identify who had handled the illicit substances.

It is understood that some of the items seized during the drug raid on Thompson’s home were found secured in a main bedroom.

It has also been revealed that Thompson attempted to visit a woman in a Melbourne immigration detention centre who was involved in drugs and sex work.

The woman was being deported from Australia.

Thompson had tried to bring her belongings in a pink suitcase late last year, but was denied entry.

Friends of the AFL great expressed concern over his welfare last week, stating that the 2012 Essendon drug saga had taken its toll on him.

Thompson has denied any involvement in criminal activity.

Investigators have not ruled out laying further charges following the raid at Thompson’s Port Melbourne property.
