Man falls 10m off cliff into Yarra River after chasing dogs in Warringal Parklands, Heidelberg
A dog walker has plunged off a cliff in Heidelberg parklands, after chasing his pets after they led him astray last night.

A man fell almost 10 metres into the Yarra River and required specialist rescue after his dogs lead him astray when they ran off in Heidelberg last night.
The 35-year-old man and his partner were walking their dogs at Warringal Parklands just after 9pm when the dogs ran off and the man chased them.

The man did not realise how close the path was to a steep drop and rolled down a slope for nearly 30 metres, including sharp nine metre drop.
He fell into a river and clung to a log until emergency services could save him.
By the time the fire brigade got to the scene about five minutes later, both people and the two dogs needed rescuing from by the river.
MFB Specialist High Angle and Swift Water Rescue firefighters used ropes and a harness to rescue the couple and their dogs.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene and his condition was not known last night.
