“We were rated the fourth best brunch spot in Manhattan,” he said.

“I’ve got a couple of businesses over there. I will be spending a bit of time here and there.”

Aside from writing his number on a napkin and giving it to his now girlfriend Virginia Slaghekke at a New York Cafe, what do we really know about Hole in the Wall?

MELBOURNE STYLE COFFEE

The cafe has been touted as an ‘up and coming specialty coffee mini-chain’ that serves quality espresso-based drinks.

So Aussie expats and tourists craving a hit of Melbourne coffee can order flat whites, lattes or cappuccinos.

They source beans from across the globe but have partnered with roasters NOVO Coffee from Denver, Colorado.

YOU WILL PAY $4 FOR A TIM TAM

This Australian delicacy is rare in the States, so getting your mitts on these delicious treats will set you back a pretty penny. (It’s probably cheaper for your Aussie friends to send you a few packets in the post).

But we’re sure the familiar taste of the homestyle treat is worth every cent.

IT’S SO GOOD THEY’VE EXPANDED

Hole in the Wall opened its first store at 420 Fifth Avenue. Now a second store has opened at 15 Cliff St.

There’s also plans for the business to expand in Manhattan and Brooklyn this year and next.

SMASHED AVO IS ON THE MENU

If you can’t afford a home in Australia on the smashed avo diet, then this is a fitting brunch dish for a New York cafe.

This meal ($11 alone or $14 with a poached egg) is served with chilli, goats cheese, lemon, arugula (which is roquette) sunflower and pumpkin seeds on toast.
