POTENTIALLY dangerous fake blood, make-up kits and moustaches have been seized in a Halloween safety scare across Melbourne.
The products were confiscated from retail and wholesale premises after failing to list their ingredients as required under Australian standards, Consumer Affairs Victoria said.

They include “Bottle of Blood,” “Blood Vampire” and “Party Moustache” products, as well as “Fright Fangs” tooth caps, and “War game” and “Carnival Colours” face paint and make-up kits.
Nearly 1,500 fake blood products were confiscated, alongside a similar number of fake moustaches and more than 400 make-up kits.
“Many of us enjoy a good scare on Halloween — but it should be for the right reasons,”
Consumer Affairs Victoria director Simon Cohen said.
“Ingredient labelling helps parents spot any ingredients that their children may be allergic to, or to more easily identify the cause if a reaction occurs.”
Of the six southeastern suburbs businesses investigated, two have given undertakings not to sell the items in the future.
The “Bottle of Blood” and “War Game” products are subject to a recall but customers who bought any of the products seized should return them for a refund.
Individual suppliers can face fines of up to $220,000 for failing to comply with mandatory safety standards, while businesses can be penalised $1.1 million.
