The 15-year-old boy who was left fighting for life after an attempted abduction by a group of teens while walking home from Glen Eira College in September has finally been released from hospital.

Benjamin was pulled into a car and dragged 150m then run over as he was hurled out of the car by three teenagers.

He spent weeks in the Royal Children’s Hospital in an induced coma.

“When I woke up out of my coma, I’ve been taken care of. My body was healed from every little thing,” Benjamin said.

He still has a long road to recovery in front of him.

Benjamin suffered nerve damage to his right eye as well as hearing loss but he has managed to return to school for a few hours a week.

His mother is proud of his recovery and said “I’m so thankful, it’s a miracle to have him back home and thankyou to everybody in the community who support us,” she told 7News.

Grateful to the medical staff who cared for him after his brush with death, the brave teen said “thank you so much. I’m here, there’s no need to worry about me. I’m doing alright.”

Ever since the attack Benjamin’s parents insist on driving him to and from school and wherever he needs to go.
