In true Aussie spirit, Yarra Valley farmers have been working hard in the face of adversity to boost tourism in the region.
After a devastating fire season and now the Coronavirus driven international market collapse, local tourism has plummeted this summer.
But, farmers in the Yarra Valley are determined to spark visitor interest by hosting the Fruits of the Yarra Valley Festival running from February 15 to 16 at Rayners Orchard.
Rayners Orchard spokesperson Dwaine Gibbons said last year’s festival was a great success, and hopes there will be a similar turnout this year.
“We hope it will get people to the Yarra Valley because a lot of local businesses have been negatively affected by the fires,” Mr Gibbons said.
