The little girl found unresponsive in Lysterfield Lake last week has died.

The four-year-old Doveton girl passed away at the Royal Children’s Hospital on Saturday.

She was found in the water at Lysterfield Lake in Narre Warren at 5.50pm on Wednesday, and flown to hospital in a critical condition.

Police are treating her death as accidental.

Tragically she has become the fourth person to perish in water-related incidents in Victoria on January 13.

Mother-of-four Aida Hamed, 45, drowned after being swept off the rocks with friends at Bushrangers Bay near Flinders that day.

Another woman, aged 43, and two teenage girls survived the ordeal after brave bystanders jumped in the water to save them.

Family and friends of Ms Hamed, an Australia Post employee, were devastated by her shock death.

A relative told the Herald Sun Ms Hamed was a beautiful woman who was loved by many.

“She was a humble human, always left a mark on people’s hearts wherever she went … never was the type to upset anyone,” the relative said.

“She was an angel too good for this place and God took her home.”

In Venus Bay, science teacher Lisa Mandeltort, 29, also drowned after rushing into the water to save a struggling teen.

Ms Mandeltort, who taught at Nossal High School in Berwick, was pulled from the ocean by an off-duty lifeguard but could not be saved.

Colleague Bradley Monaco said Ms Mandeltort was an “incredible friend” and was always there for anyone who needed it.

“This has been such a shock, but what isn’t a surprise to me is that her last act was such a selfless one,” Mr Monaco said.

“She was compassionate, kind, and always put the people around her first.”

And in a separate incident on the Mornington Peninsula, a man in his 80s was located unconscious in the water at Rye front beach on about 4pm on January 13.
