Disney deja vu: Family accidentally recreates the same holiday snap 23 years later in freak coincidence
IT’S not the first time a family has recreated a photo from decades ago, right down to the precise details. But the weird thing is this Victorian family’s picture moment was entirely accidental.

THE McDonalds of Mentone wouldn’t be the first family to recreate a family photo in the exact same place from many years earlier.
But the remarkable thing about these freakishly similar photos taken on the same Disneyland ride 23 years apart is the uncanny likeness is entirely accidental.
It was only when the family was browsing through old photos a few weeks ago that they realised they had unknowingly replicated a 1987 photo in 2010.
The older photo was taken when Lucy and Don McDonald took their three sons and only daughter on the Disneyland ride in 1987.
The second photo was taken when the McDonalds’ daughter and her husband took their own three sons and only daughter on the same ride in 2010.
One of Lucy’s sons took the first photo from the back seat; Lucy’s daughter took the second snap from the back where she was sitting with one of her own three sons.
“It was only when my daughter was showing her kids the old photos of our trip, when she was 15 years old, that they realised the coincidence of the same shot, in the same spot in Disneyland all those years ago,” says Lucy, from Mentone.
“I got such a shock because it’s in exactly the same spot on exactly the same ride, and she’s got three sons and a daughter and we have three sons and a daughter.”
“People will probably see the photos and think the second one was set up, but it was just a complete coincidence.”
Have you or your family recreated an old photo either intentionally or by accident? Send them in.
