Former AFL footballer Dane Swan has been accused of trolling two top-rating female podcasters, sparking a furious online gender battle.
Swan and former footballer Scott Cummings host the Humpday with Scotty and Swanny podcast with former Footy Show producer Ralph Horowitz.
Last week they lampooned the Love etc show made by Shameless podcasters Michelle Andrews and Zara McDonald.
In a June 18 episode called Sewerage Awareness Officers, the Humpday men laughingly dismiss Andrews and McDonald as “two chicks and they talk about relationships for 45 minutes at a time”.
They suggest the pair “lay together” — which attracted the ire of the women and their fans.
Just prior to the segment, the three men accuse each other of masturbating in the studio and discuss explicit and degrading sexual positions.
They refer to “having sex with a fat woman in a pit of mud” and trying to “sneak behind a girl who is on all fours throwing up”.
The three men laugh about the idea that they’d talk about their feelings, with one asking:
“Does feeling toey count?”
On Monday, Andrews and McDonald responded to the men’s podcast.
“They opened it by making the joke that the reason two women would be at the top of the Apple podcast charts is because they must, and I quote, lay together … that we are having sex together,” the women said.
“Those three men on that podcast showed a profound lack of respect for two women in the media and I don’t think they would necessarily do the same thing for men,” they said.
“There is a layer of sexism to what happened on that podcast.”
“Old ignorant men like that are the reason why this is our career and why we have a media company. We have a successful podcast because they are the ones to make women feel stupid and irrational for so long,” they said.
“We won’t stop doing what we are doing even when we get trolled by people like Dane Swan,” the women said.
A recent Humpday Instagram post about the issue attracted more than 450 furious comments from both men and women, Men said the women’s comments were “feminism gone batsh.t crazy” and there were “so many angry women on here”.

One woman accused the men’s “toxic masculinity” as the “reason the rate of suicide of young men is so high and why women are killed at the hands of their partners”.
Cummings and Swan replied that women being killed has “zero to do with three dills taking the piss out of themselves”.
They claimed Andrews and McDonald, whom they repeatedly called “girls”, “should be embarrassed by their many inaccuracies and misrepresentations”.
However, on June 24 the men were giving the women’s podcast a plug on social media.
In a recent Instagram post the men responded to the criticism and said they were “taking the piss out of ourselves that Love etc was number two in the country and we were ‘only’ number 2 in sport”.
“Anyway, congrats to them for their ongoing successes and to everyone else … As Swanny always says just because you’re outraged doesn’t mean you’re right,” they wrote.
