The founder of a Clunes wellness centre, where a woman died after she was believed to have had magic mushrooms, has revealed she has been targeted with hatred and abuse in the weeks since the terrible incident.
Soul Barn Creative Wellbeing Centre founder Michelle Mullins has told Nine Entertainment she had been harassed and threatened, online and in person, after 53-year-old Rachael Dixon, of Ringwood North died on April 13 at centre.
Soul Barn had previously released a statement saying Ms Dixon was at a private event, with the venue hired to external businesses and facilitators, but says she continues to be viciously targeted despite not playing any role in the tragic event.
“The level of harassment has been overwhelming,” she told Nine Entertainment.
“I appreciate there are answers that people are looking for. To a degree, we all want answers, but everyone wants them from me and I simply don’t have them. I wasn’t there, I was home in bed.”
Ms Mullins said she had been stalked in person and threatened online, despite her staying out of the spotlight.
“I want to stress this is not about me and this is their [the Dixon family’s] devastation and their tragedy,” she said.
“I have been very mindful of not saying anything to anyone because they are devastated. But I am also having so many things happen to me, my son and my family that are frightening, and it’s been really hard to understand how I am now the target.”
The coroner continues to probe Ms Dixon’s death.
