MOVE over Grumpy Cat, we’ve got a local contender ready to sink its claws into your title.
This is Zanda, a Scottish Longhair whose sour puss catt-itude has seen it score appearances in commercials and on TV shows such as Channel 10’s The Living Room.
Ten-year-old Zanda, who is based between Melbourne and Canberra with his owner Andrea Sewell, is so famous he’s even got his own Instagram and YouTube page.

WHAT’S YOUR CAT’S FELINE PERSONALITY TYPE?
Grumpy Cat first became an internet sensation in 2012, when the US kitty (real name Tardar Sauce) spawned an influx of grumpy cat memes and memorabilia.
The celebrity cat became well-known for her permanently grumpy facial expression after her photo was posted on Reddit, and went on to be the official spokescat of cat brand Friskies in the US.
Closer to home, there are plenty of Victorians who believe their cat has striking sour puss features.
Bell Parsons, from Kyneton, is the owner of British shorthair cat Lady Di and believes she is a contender for the title of Victoria’s grumpiest cat.
“She just looks grumpy,” Ms Parsons said.
“All our friends and neighbours say so, too.”
Another contender is sulky Spynx cat, Gump Gus, according to owner Vicky Bridle from Morwell in the Latrobe Valley.
Ms Bridles said Gump Gus is particularly grumpy when it’s cold (no surprises there, considering he’s hairless).
“He looks grumpy but he’s a huge sweetheart,” Ms Bridle said.
To celebrate (and try to cheer up!) our local grumpy cats, the Herald Sun and the Cat Lovers Show are running a competition to seek out Victoria’s grumpiest cat.
Just upload a photo of your grumpy cat on the Cat Lovers Show competition tab on Facebook for a chance to win a special Feline Prize Pack valued at more than $500, including 10 tickets for you and your friends to attend the Cat Lovers Show at the Royal Exhibition Building from September 8-9.
The winner will be decided by the Cat Lovers Show independent judging panel by 8pm on Wednesday, September 5, and announced on the Cat Lovers Show Facebook page.
