Bourke St killer James “Dimitrious” Gargasoulas will return to court today where dozens of his victims’ loved ones are expected to reveal their heartbreak.

Family and friends of the six people killed in his rampage on January 20, 2017, will reveal how his actions have affected them in victim impact statements to be read out in court.

The pre-sentence hearing — which will hear submissions by both the prosecution and defence on what they want the judge to take into account when sentencing — is scheduled to last three days in the Supreme Court.

It is the first time Gargasoulas has returned to the dock since a jury found him guilty in November on six counts of murder and 27 of reckless conduct endangering life.

Three-month-old Zachary Matthew-Bryant was the youngest victim.

The little boy died from head injuries when Gargasoulas ploughed his sedan into his pram.

Schoolgirl Thalia Hakin, 10, also died when struck while holding her mother’s hand as they walked to a magic show.

Others killed were architect Matthew Si, 33, Deloitte financial consultant Bhavita Patel, 33, Sydney insurance consultant Jessica Mudie, 22, and Japanese student Yosuke Kanno, 25.

Gargasoulas, 28, pleaded not guilty to all charges.

It took the 12-person jury less than an hour to find him guilty of all charges after a week-long trial.

Justice Mark Weinberg will sentence Gargasoulas at a later date.

Gargasoulas, who has been in solitary confinement since his arrest, is facing life behind bars.

At trial, Gargasoulas told the jury he was given permission by God to run the people over, before offering an apology.

“I apologise from my heart,” Gargasoulas said.

“But that’s not going to fix anything if I say sorry. Neither would a lengthy sentence fix what I have done.”
