AS THIS year’s top AFL teams compete for a place in the Grand Final, AFL fans are about to enter their own contest: scoring tickets to the biggest game of 2017.

And the great scramble will officially begin on Sunday, when Richmond and Adelaide fans try their best to secure a seat at next Saturday’s sporting showcase.

While long lines of keen MCC members will queue outside the MCG later this week, members of the Tigers and Crows should know earlier if they have secured tickets.

Fans successful in their team’s Grand Final ticket ballot are in the box seat to secure entry and should know by Monday if they were successful.

Passionate members who paid extra at the start of the season to guarantee Grand Final tickets will be rewarded for their show of faith.

Full AFL Members whose club is competing can purchase tickets between 10am and 1pm on Sunday and full AFL Members without their team in the big dance will have access from 2-5pm.

If any tickets still remain by 5pm on Sunday, silver members will be able to try their luck on Monday between 11am-1pm and others from 2pm-5pm.

Members whose teams are playing will be given first shot.

The Grand Final is the only AFL match legislated a “declared’’ event, making it illegal for tickets to be sold above face value.

Fans have been urged against buying from scalpers or secondary ticket sellers.

To buy tickets, head to either the Ticketek website or the Ticketmaster website.

You can also visit your nearest Ticketek agency or Ticketmaster agency.
