Pet dog dies as police investigate house fire at Elizabeth Vale
Resuscitation efforts of firefighters could not save a pet at a northern suburbs home as it went up in flames overnight.

A fire at a northern suburbs home has claimed the life of a pet dog as police investigate the cause of the fire.
Emergency services were called to Berberis Dr, Elizabeth Vale about 2.15am Thursday February 22 after reports of a house fire.
When firefighters arrived the house was fully involved.
Crews battled the blaze bringing it under control, however extensive damage was caused to the property.
An MFS spokesperson said 19 firefighters and five appliances took 16 minutes to control and extinguish the blaze.
There were no people at home at the time of the fire, however – despite resuscitation efforts of firefighters – a dog died at the scene.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire which at this stage is undetermined.
Fire Cause Investigators will be attending the scene this morning to assist.
