Two people pulled from water after boat overturns in Central Queensland

A man is fighting for his life and another person is being treated by paramedics after their boat overturned in a Queensland waterway.

A boating emergency is unfolding in Central Queensland with two people pulled from the water after their boat overturned in the Gladstone region.

Emergency crews were called to the Trevor Laver Boat Ramp, on Gladstone Benaraby Road, at 10.13am today.

“We received reports that a boat had overturned and was sinking,” a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.

The ambulance spokeswoman said two people were pulled from the water.

“There’s one patient that’s stable and uninjured.

“We’ve got (another) patient with life-threatening injuries — they were pulled from the water unresponsive.”

The man, in his 70s, was being treated at the scene.
