Sheri George, a mental health nurse at Alfred, and Tim (surname withheld), police officer, are the forgotten heroes of the Middle Park explosion. The pair were trying to gain access to the home when the explosion occurred, injuring three of their colleagues. Sheri and Tim ran for water, dousing the injured officers from hoses and buckets, and Tim drove the ambulance to the hospital. They are both nominated for a Pride of Australia Award.
