NT crime news: 33yo man arrested in Moil after alleged firearm discharge

A large hullabaloo between two families ended in the arrest of a man who had allegedly fired his gun during an argument with his partner.

A large hullabaloo between two families ended in the arrest of a man who allegedly fired his gun during an argument with his partner.

At about 4pm on Sunday, a large disturbance was reported in Moil between two family groups as a result of an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred on Saturday evening.

It is alleged on January 18, a 33-year-old man and the victim were arguing while on a duck hunting trip when he discharged his firearm.

The next day it was reported the man was driving to the Bagot Community with a firearm.

His vehicle was stopped at the entrance of the community, and a search revealed an edged weapon, baseball bat and an imitation firearm.

He returned a positive roadside breath test and was arrested for DV and traffic related offences.

As at Monday NT Police said investigations were ongoing.
