A host of famous faces have had mixed results from Melbourne’s busiest auction weekend since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Australia in March.
AFL identities Garry Lyon and Nicky Brownless scored a sale after their Ashleigh Road, Armadale, home sold for $3.37m — just under $200,000 above what they paid for it in 2018, according to records.
But former footballer Dale Thomas and celebrity chef Gary Mehigan will wait for deals to be closed on their eastern suburbs homes in the coming days.

Realestate.com.au have reported an 82.7 per cent preliminary clearance rate for the week’s 1165 expected auctions.
Marshall White's Chris Barrett said he could not discuss the vendors of his Armadale listing, but the multimillion-dollar price was “about right” for the market.
Three bidders competed for the home that title documents show Lyon, a former Melbourne Football Club captain and Footy Show host, owns alongside partner Nicky Brownless, the ex-wife of Lyon’s one-time Footy Show co-star Billy Brownless.
The Brownless children, including VFL playing son Oscar, were seen entering the home after the auction.
The sale opened with a $3m vendor bid and rose to $3.37m where bidding stalled and a halftime break was held. The house sold shortly after being declared on the market as auctioneer Andrew Hayne returned.
“With the lowest interest rates on record there are more buyers than sellers,” Mr Barrett said.
“And well-located homes are always going to be in demand.”
He is also expecting to help former Collingwood and Carlton player Dale Thomas sell his 19 Allenby Ave, Glen Iris, house before Christmas.
The four-bedroom family home was listed for auction on December 12, but swapped to an expressions of interest campaign scheduled to wrap up on December 15 after a delay in key paperwork.
And celebrity chef Gary Mehigan took his 66 Central Park Road, Malvern East, home off the menu less than 24 hours before it was supposed to go under the hammer.
It is understood he is still negotiating with prospective buyers privately via Marshall White’s Joanna Nairn.
The house was listed with a $5.9-$6.49m asking price.
